OUR FOUNDER

Cha’nae King is the daughter of Dr. R. A. Vernon and Dr. Victory Vernon of The Word Church in Cleveland, Ohio, where they have pastored for twenty years.

Growing up, Cha’nae struggled to find real friends and wrestled with embracing her identity when it conflicted with her grasp of what she thought it meant to be a PK. She longed for a community where she could find solace, where a simple, “It’s going to be okay,” or “It’s not as bad as it seems,” would’ve eased her anxiety about expectations she didn’t understand. 

This emotional discomfort is where the seed of an idea for such a community was conceived. She’s dreamed of starting PKD since 2014, but she’s now ready to fulfill the vision and slay the goals God has given her for young women.

Cha’nae has her B.A. in Communications with a minor in English from the University of Akron, she is currently working full-time ministry, and she’s married to her best friend Jason.
